Year 8 & 9 Girls Football

On Wednesday a number of our super star 8/9 girls took part in a come and try girls 9-a-side football tournament with Riverton, Burra and Kapunda at the Riverton town oval.
The girls showed amazing team work and showcased some great skills in horribly wet conditions. Mr Parsons was very proud to get such good feedback about the girls from officials throughout the day. Many goals and many laughs were had and it was a successful day all round despite almost being frozen.

Year 8 & 9 Netball

Last Wednesday the 8/9 Girls netball teams competed in the Lower North Zone Knockout Netball carnival at Kapunda. The Div 1 team, ably coached by Miss Schahinger and Abbie McArdle, finished 3rd with three strong wins and two narrow 4 goal losses. The Div 2 team finished 2nd with one win and one loss. Thanks to Mrs Manuel for coaching the Div 2 team and to Mrs Stevens who was our bus driver and umpire for the day. Well done to the girls who represented our school proudly.

Hallett Cove fought back strongly in the second half, outscoring us 6 goals to 4 to take the game by 1 point.

Commiserations to the team and coach, Mr Parsons. Thank you to Tiarhn Carpenter and Amber Pratt for their assistance on the day and all the parents and family members that can to cheer the boys on.
