School Sport SA Track and Field Championship
At the end of Term 1 our combined Lower North Athletics Team travelled to Athletics SA Stadium to compete in the School Sport SA Track and Field Championship in D Grade Division 1. The Lower North Team was made up of 26 students from our school, 17 students from Burra Community School and 7 students from Riverton & District High School. In our division we were competing against Cleve, Penola, Millicient, Birdwood, Salisbury East, Moonta and Glenunga’s division 2 team. Our students had a great day out, with many picking up a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in their events which meant we were crowned Boys, Girls and Overall Champions in our division. Lower North Cross Country
Congratulations to Baylee Jones who competed in the Lower North Zone Cross Country event at Clare High School on Tuesday the 4th of May.
Bowls SA High School Championship
Congratulations to Lucy Howard who competed in the Bowls SA High School Championship on Friday the 7th May at Holdfast Bay Bowling Club.
Year 8/9 Boys and Girls Touch Football
On Wednesday the 5th of May the Year 8/9 Boys and Girls Touch Football Teams competed in Round 1 of the School Sport SA Statewide Touch Football Competition at the City Touch Grounds in Adelaide. The girls team finished the day with 1 win, 1 draw and 2 loses while the boys unfortunately didn’t secure any wins but played 4 competitive games improving each time. As the only country school competing against some very experienced city schools and after only a few lunchtime practices it was great to see the big improvements in our students' skills, confidence and game sense by the end of the day.
The girls team included: Janna Mojares, Brooke McArdle, Madison Litzow, Irish Pagadut, Samantha Lockwood, Bella Pratt, Maylea Carpenter, Emily Curnow (sick on the day), Kasey Battle (injured).
The boys team included: Dylan Williams, Josh Michael, Flynn Young, Riley Hannaford, Jordan Hart, Seb Hughes, Adawynn Hughes, Josh May, Jesse Humphrys, Jack Tiller, Max Williams.


Open Boys Football
On Thursday the 20th of May our Open Boys Football Team travelled to Clare Town Oval to play off against Clare High School in Round 1 of the Statewide Football Knockout Competition. The boys lead all game and finished with a 10 point lead at the final siren. The boys are now off to Redhill on Wednesday Week 8 to play off against Central Yorke School and Caritas College, Port Augusta in Round 2. Congratulations to Mr Parsons and the team and a big thank you to Cameron Curnow for umpiring, Josh May for boundary umpiring and Casey Pratt and Olivia Allen for running water.

Year 8/9 Football
Our 8/9 Boys Football team travelled to X Convenience Oval in Elizabeth on Monday the 24th of May to play their Round 1 match of the Statewide Knockout competition. The boys came away with very convincing wins over Mt Carmel College and Playford International College meaning they also progress to Round 2 to be played early in Term 3. Congratulations again to coach Ash Parsons and thank you to Brayden Cocks, Lachlan Groth, Lachlan Michalanney, Bella Pratt, Maylea Carpenter, Macauley Smith, Jamie Banwell and Michelle Pudney for their assistance on the day.
