In Week 2, the Year 8 students and teachers went to Port Hughes for a 2 night/3 day camp. The camp was designed to facilitate bonding among the cohort, coming together from multiple feeder schools and beginning together at BHS. Students took part in a range of team activities such as laser skirmish, a photo challenge, a coastal walk to Moonta, water balloon games and get-to-know-you activities. To kick off the Homegroup Cup, students also decorated team banners, showing their team spirit and emerging competitive sides! Our final day of camp saw us head to the beach but unfortunately, the weather was not kind enough to allow us to go swimming. Instead we enjoyed a beach walk and explored the rock pools.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Peter from Arura Group Stays for the lovely accommodation; Naomi from The Roaming Chef for the delicious catering; Mr La Grutta for all of his hard work in Term 4 last year to organise the camp; the team from Light Strike Laser Skirmish; the supervising staff (Mrs Thiel, Miss McCormack, Miss Papagiannis, Miss Mooney, Mr Parsons and Mr Richards); and our bus drivers, Dave and Fiona.

I would also like to congratulate the students on their inclusive, respectful and responsible behaviour and the many compliments they received from Peter, Naomi and the Light Strike team. They certainly showed great P.R.I.D.E in their new school!
