Rite of Passage
This year, Mr Brooks has been working with selected Year 10 male students around the themes of behaviour growth, empathy, personal identity, relationships, future planning, gratitude and mindset. These themes are explored through physical activity, group dynamics and community endeavours. The current project for the boys is to pave the carpark for the Balaklava Child Care Centre to ensure safety for parents, children and workers. This project is led by Josh Oliver, the groundsperson at Balaklava Community Children's Centre. As the boys have learnt through theory lessons, community involvement can improve and illicit positive emotions, engagement and purpose within our lives. See photos below stage 1 of the BCCC carpark re-development.
